Elevator steel wire ropes are specialized steel wire ropes used for load-bearing and traction in elevator systems. They comply with the mandatory national standard "Steel Wire Ropes for Elevators" (GB 8903-2024), and the quality and safety requirements cover all production and sales links to prevent safety accidents.

    Its common specifications include 8*19S+FC-8mm and 8*19S+FC-10mm, with sisal or PPC synthetic fiber rope cores. The diameter of the traction wheel should be no less than 40 times the nominal diameter of the steel wire rope. The safety factor is classified into two types according to the number of steel wire ropes: 12 (more than three) and 16 (two). Manganese-based phosphating coated elevator steel wire ropes, as an upgraded product of smooth steel wire ropes, have become the technological development direction of the industry by enhancing wear resistance and fatigue life.

    Regular maintenance requires regular lubrication of the steel wire rope. It is strictly prohibited to use it without oil to avoid affecting the service life of the steel wire rope and the traction wheel. The lubrication methods include soaking, brushing or equipment oiling.
